Date of Visit: 11th December 2024

Location: Prabhat Tara Cluny Boarding School, Okhrey – Sankhuwasabha, East Nepal.

On 11th December 2024, Sr. Cecilia Shrestha visited Prabhat Tara Cluny Boarding School,

Okhrey to assess its progress and address its needs. During her visit, she shared the Christmas

massages and gifts with all the students and staff, encouraging them to continue their good

work in serving the needy and underprivileged.

She distributed water bottles as Christmas gifts to the students and teachers, symbolizing the

Society’s commitment to the welfare and development of the school community.

A meeting was held with the school management committee and teachers. The management

committee expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the sisters and the donors for their unwavering

support in providing education to the children of the region. They emphasized the importance

of continued assistance to further enhance the school’s capabilities and reach.

Achievements

Quality Education: Local students from underprivileged communities are receiving quality

education.

Community Impact: The school has successfully addressed educational gaps, creating a

positive impact on the community.

Challenges

Geographical Barriers: The school is situated at an altitude of 2,470 meters, resulting in harsh

winters that affect daily operations.

Teacher Retention: It is challenging to recruit and retain qualified teachers in such a remote

location.

Recommendations

Infrastructure Development:

Construct boundary walls to secure the school premises and its land.

Utilize available land for cultivating seasonal vegetables to promote sustainability.

Administrative Enhancements:

Motivate the school management committee to apply for permission to conduct classes 3 to 5

at the Education Office in Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha.
